Donaldson

The Doubloon Saxon #1 well was drilled by Tenneco in 1985. The well spud in shallow water on the Grand Bahama Bank and was the last well drilled in The Bahamas.  Primary objectives were Lower Cretaceous and Upper Jurassic limestones and dolomites.  Numerous live oil shows were encountered but no commercial accumulation was found. The well was plugged and abandoned in 1986 at a total depth of 21,740 feet-the deepest well drilled to date in The Bahamas.

Cooper

Cooper has the most coverage of the 2011 3D, contains the majority of Folds B and C. However, our initial well will likely be in the adjacent Donaldson Licence. Our well will be designed to test the Cretaceous through Upper Jurassic section on Fold B. We are planning a well to 22,500 feet. 

Miami

The Bahama California Oil Company (Chevron) drilled the Great Isaac well to a depth of 17,847 feet in 1970-71. This was the fourth and next to last well drilled in The Bahamas. The well reports indicate the lithology at total depth was a breccia comprised of pre-Jurassic igneous rocks. No commercial hydrocarbons were encountered and the well was plugged and abandoned. The well was believed to have targeted a large seismically defined structure although seismic data is very poor.

These areas, in addition to Zapata are joint applications with Statoil. Shortly after these applications were made the Macondo spill occurred in the Gulf of Mexico and The Bahamas placed a moratorium on the granting of new licences until further studies were done. An Environmental Feasibility Study was submitted to the Minister of the Environment 4Q 2011. We are awaiting final review of this document by the newly elected government for a decision on these applications.

Santaren

These applications are 100% Bahamas Petroleum Company applications. Shortly after these applications were made the Macondo spill occurred in the Gulf of Mexico and The Bahamas government placed a moratorium on the granting of new licences until further studies were done. Our Environmental Impact Statement was submitted to the Minister of the Environment Q4 2011. We are awaiting final review of this document by the newly elected government for a decision on these applications.

Andros

These applications are 100% Bahamas Petroleum Company applications. Shortly after these applications were made the Macondo spill occurred in the Gulf of Mexico and The Bahamas government placed a moratorium on the granting of new licences until further studies were done. Zapata

In 1956, Bahamas California Co. (Chevron) and Bahamas Exploration Co. (Gulf) performed a detailed seismic and engineering survey of the Cay Sal Bank area culminating in the second exploration well conducted in The Bahamas, the Cay Sal #1 (T.D. 18906 feet). The well was a joint test by the two companies drilled in 1959 encountering "live oil shows" from 12,682 feet to T.D., but with no commercial quantities of hydrocarbons tested.

This application is a joint application with Statoil.

Falcones

These areas, in addition to Zapata are joint applications with Statoil.
